Buzzing Landscape
«Frigo» ist eine Rauminstallation von Reto Emch, dessen Schwerpunkte Skulpturen und Arbeiten für Kunst am Bau und den öffentlichen Raum sind. Seine Werke aktivieren eine sinnliche Sphäre, in der visuelle, kinetische, akustische Ereignisse parallel zu physikalischen Phänomenen interagieren.
Die Rauminstallation mit 16 Kühlschränken bildet die Basis für die Premiere von «Buzzing Landscape», einer zeitgenössischen Flamenco-Tanzinszenierung der Compagnie el contrabando unter der Leitung von Anet Fröhlicher.
Der Flamenco, in seiner herkömmlichen Form durch Heissblütigkeit und Emotionen geprägt, wird einem Kühlsystem gegenübergestellt. Er wird auf Eis gelegt, Bestandteile davon werden wieder aufgetaut und verarbeitet. Bewegungs-Prozesse werden verlangsamt und wieder beschleunigt. «Buzzing Landscape» — Eine Reise durch ein System von Kühlung und Erwärmung, Öffnung und Schliessung, Fluss und Erstarrung, auf Eis Gelegtem und Aufgetautem, Prozess-Verlangsamung und Reduktion.

“Frigo” is a room installation by Reto Emch whose central areas of exploration are sculptures and works for art in architecture and public spaces. His artworks activate a sensory sphere in which visual, kinetic and acoustic experiences interact in parallel with physical phenomena.
The room installation of 16 fridges forms the basis for the première of “Buzzing Landscape”, a contemporary flamenco dance production by Compagnie el contrabando, directed by Anet Fröhlicher.
The flamenco, normally characterized by hot-bloodedness and emotions, is set against a cooling system. It is laid on ice, parts are defrosted and then reworked. Movement processes are slowed and then accelerated. “Buzzing Landscape” — a journey through a system of cooling and warming, opening and closing, flow and rigidity, of things laid on ice and things defrosted. A slowing of processes and reduction.
